Red Dress Dreams

I've had a nasty cold for a few days, so no progress to show on my mini-wardrobe contest sketches (maybe tomorrow? the contest has started so I better get cracking) but here is a random Polyvore set I put together a little while back when I was plotting what to do with some red cotton lycra jersey I had acquired:

Then I started thinking about red pencil skirts instead...

This was the result--a maternity modification of BurdaStyle's super-easy Melissa pattern (see details on my BurdaStyle Studio page):

25 weeks pregnant red pencil skirt remix!

The fabric turned out to be not such a great quality (wrinkles easily, weird recovery) so the remaining two yards will be used as a muslin for the cardigan jacket I'm making for the contest.

  1. Your new skirt is so cute! I love it when pregnant ladies are stylish.

My own sister absolutely refused to wear anything other than black or navy during the last 5-6 months of her pregnancy.

Also, I love that picture behind you.

  2. Wow, I really love this outfit, from head to toe! I was really surprised that this late in your pregnancy you decided to make a pencil skirt of all things, but it looks fabulous!

I'd love to hear from you! But no ads please--I'll just have to delete them.
