I've acquired vintage patterns pretty much by osmosis (people give them to me), but I am thinking I might have to start seeking some out!Gretchen the Household Deityhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16882578423517346342noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-36336144621399978652010-04-19T10:30:36.897-04:002010-04-19T10:30:36.897-04:00I've got a copy of 1866, but in a wee size. I used black wool gabardine, with red wool for the cuffs, and silver dome buttons. For silliness'sake, I used a zebra-print silk to line the jacket, since I'd found it as a remnant for a good price.angldsthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04123565899428479438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-24411550172531005212010-04-17T21:15:09.669-04:002010-04-17T21:15:09.669-04:00Oh, I love that Simplicity 3431! By then I was preggo again, and after the second baby it never did go back to what it used to be. I swear to you, I grew an inch in my torso from having babies. I have no idea why.Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11324063002043240075noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-4699704763189290502010-04-17T12:37:59.782-04:002010-04-17T12:37:59.782-04:00Ah ha, so now I've met my competition on the f...Ah ha, so now I've met my competition on the fuzzy vague pattern lots! Be careful on the whole "I'll sell the extras" -- that's what I tell Mr. PJ, and while I do sell some, I have a couple hundred that have yet to be listed. But the thrill of hunting through lots is so much fun -- not to mention the great notations or the bits of ephemera you can find inside. I've found samples of fabric, newspaper clippings, etc...

I agree, the men in that illustration are frightening! I think it's something about the shoulders -- they are MUCH too frightening!

I'm a big lover of the Wiki, too -- so glad you put your finds in there. It's such a great resource.Pattern Junkiehttp://patternjunkie.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-84209774869985691842010-04-17T10:14:35.130-04:002010-04-17T10:14:35.130-04:00Really awesome stash.Really awesome stash.K.Linehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15350615302797686048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-35811637620898607042010-04-17T07:26:32.452-04:002010-04-17T07:26:32.452-04:00Sarah, I know--I'm totally dithering on 1866. ...Sarah, I know--I'm totally dithering on 1866. The boxes cost between $8-$15 each, plus shipping. Out of those 81 patterns, 22 were keepers for me... and I'd say about 30 were duds, and another 29 were fabulous but not my style or anywhere near size.Mikhaela Reidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02817367214920267825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-863792023187803515.post-51554851154305684232010-04-17T01:22:00.879-04:002010-04-17T01:22:00.879-04:00Oh, those are great fun!
